I switched from Dropbox to Google Photos but not everyone should do so. It commits us to the Google family of services exclusively.
Pro:
Google Photos offer unlimited free storage provided a degree of compression is used. If google chrome, blogger or other Alphabet services are used then it is marvelously easy.
Con:
Google steal your photographs! You may upload them but not download them back. You will find yourself increasingly locked into their technology unless you store the photos elsewhere as well.
