Impulse spending.


Impulse spending (like smoking and other bad habits) is a response to specific triggers.

My own triggers include.

Walking past restaurants at meal times.

Maintaining loyalty schemes and then justifying purchases on this basis.

Being dissatisfied or unhappy.

Emotional spending is an addiction. It makes us feel better at time but this creates an emotional association each time we do so.
