How to reduce spending.

Impulse spending, like smoking or drinking alcohol is a response to specific triggers that are unique to each person.

We must identify the things that cause us to spend. In my own case these include the following.

Walking past restaurants at meal times.

Maintaining loyalty programmes and paying too much attention to them.

Bogus cost benefit calculations. I see something I would like to buy and I make a self serving cost benefit calculation that proves it pays for itself. This is pure self deception!
