St Clement Danes. The Royal Air Force church. v1.0

This is yet another City church. It may seem strange that I visit so many of them as I am not religious but they are interesting for secular reasons. The City is a city without a population as it consist almost entirely of offices and ceremonial buildings. As a result the one hundred or so churches here have had to find a national purpose.

Look closely at the floor and you will see that each represents an RAF squadron.

The Church of England is also finding itself in the same situation elsewhere as religious belief declines. It would do well to copy the City.
