We need to take time to experience things. The small pleasures of life (sunshine, tea, friends, music) are the cheapest. By enjoying them we raise our living standard and little or no cost.
Generally one joins the slow movement without even realising it. I bought myself a beautiful Chinese cast iron teapot to deliberately slow myself down. I knew somehow that brewing tea in this way would make the experience meaningful- my own small Zen tea ceremony!
