There is a government website devoted to reducing food waste.
As with all government ventures it is clear that oodles of cash have been spent but less clear how useful it all is.
The website lectures us on waste and then dresses up simple recommendations such as checking 'use by' dates as the holy grail.
Despite the advice being obvious it is still worth following.
