Simplicity.

The reason I have not achieved as much as I would like in my life is over complexity. My home environment is cluttered. My plans are overelaborate and I think too much. All of these faults may be overcome.

The first on my list is my home. It is difficult to think clearly in a house full of junk. What follows is a partial list of measure that can be applied to many situations.

I expect these measures, directly or indirectly, to make me £250 a month better off.
  • The first priority is my kitchen. Junk in the kitchen is not just junk, it is wasted food and maybe a health hazard.
  • I have great quantities of starchy grains that I am no longer supposed to eat yet I am reluctant to throw them out. I am therefore gradually reducing them via two delicious and cheap recipes I invented.
  • For the rice- I boil this for 12 minutes in an electric pressure cooker along with spicy chorizo sausage. The flavours and the oils of the sausage are absorbed by the rice.
  • For the lentils, I use a slow cooker for about three hours then pop some cheap smokey bacon in for an hour or so. The bacon flavours the rather bland lentils. Over time these meals will reduce the clutter of the kitchen.
  • I now follow no more than five YouTube channels that are genuinely useful to me.
  • I have will no longer buy books until I have finished the ones I have.
  • I am taking myself off email lists to clear up my inbox.
  • I discovered and closed a duplicate Pinterest account. This is my real one.
  • Porridge oats are not so hot- for the pre-diabetic. The carbs from oats take a long time to reach the blood but they are still carbs. I will run them down over time.
